One problem we encountered when making our production was what order do we put titles like actors, directors, producers and editors. We decided to watch a few openings to action films and horror films. After looking at these films, we figured out that normally in film openings, the actors are listed first, then the editors, then the producers and finally directors.
This information helped us put our titles in order, meaning that we could have them the correct order, making it as close to a professional looking film opening as possible.
We also wanted to improve out idents, and we did this by watching film openings and seeing what idents went where. We first started by making an animated ident to put at the start, and then we added in two normal idents near the start of the opening.
